    Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of any organization and that is certainly the case at the Rice County Historical Society. Volunteers are the reason that we are able to acheive our mission and reach our goals.

To that end we have interns (unpaid volunteers) helping with exhibits and the web site. We have volunteers serving on committees like the Education and Program Committees. We have volunteers who serve on our board of directors. And, especially vital to opening the museum in the summer, we have volunteers who greet visitors and staff of the museum. Last year we were blessed to have volunteers contribute more than 1,430 hours to the Historical Society.

2004 is shaping up to be a year of activity and excitement at the museum. But it won't happen without volunteers. Please see the list of ongoing projects and committee openings below for some of the many available volunteer activities. Volunteer training sessions are being planned so don't worry about previous experience. If you have the interest and a bit of time, let us know. and to all of you who volunteered during 2003, Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Board and Committee Openings:
The Rice County Historical Society has two openings on its Board of Directors. If you are interested in donating your time and energy to serving on this Board, please contact Sue Garwood at 507-332-2121 for more information. As a member of the Board of Directors, an individual is responsible for attending monthly meetings and serving on at least one committee. All Board Members are also asked to attend events and be a member of the RCHS. In addition, the RCHS has an opening on its Educational Committee. Cathy Osterman has recently announced her resignation from this Committee as she is relocating to Cheyenne, Wyoming. We wish Cathy well and thank her for her many contributions to this Committee.
